May is the fourth month of the Gregorian Calendar named after Maia, a Roman fertility Goddess.  Spring is one of the four seasons occurring between winter and summer months.  In the Northern Hemisphere spring usually takes place from March to may and is defined by an angle of the earth’s tilt toward the sun equinoxes and solstices.  The first day of Spring of 2024 is Tuesday March 19, at 11:06 PM EDT.  Spring is a season of new beginnings, renewal and growth as nature abounds with color with renewed energy of the season.  The world awakens from its winter slumber into the warmth of sunny days with enthusiasm as the feelings of spring permeates the air with booms of the season.  Spring in climatology is the season between winter and summer when temperatures gradually rise transitioning from winter cold to summer heat that occurs only in middle and high latitudes. 

In many cultures spring is celebrated with festivals revolving around the importance of food production as most gardens are planted in May.  In European languages the concept of spring is associated with sowing of crops.  During this time of year all plants including cultivated ones begin new growth anew after dormancy of winter. Animals greatly affected by hibernation began their nesting and reproduction activities as the birds migrate poleward in response to warmer temperatures. May is the season when flowers bloom as the warmer weather warms once again with renewal of many plant species.  Spring is a wonderful time to embrace the great outdoors to enjoy various activities including gardening, cycling, exploring and empty beaches. hiking, having a picnic, playing golf, visiting parks and gardens to admire beautiful bloom, horseback riding, making a bird feeder, and  fly a kite, the possibilities are endless in May.

Sports enthusiasts find various ways to exercise outdoors building lean muscles while losing weight walking once per day to boost metabolism helps you lose weight.
