Lower Calories Using Sugar free Substitutes
Sugar-free desserts are common these days as people tend to manage weight lowering caloric intake. Sugar substitutes are available for baking, and beverages adding virtually little to no calories to your diet. Stevia is considered the best option for sweetening foods followed by yacon syrup, erythritol, and xylitol.
According to the Simmons National Consumer (NHCS) report, 141.97 million Americans used sugar substitutes in 2019 to reduce calories helping people stay on their diets. Stevia a natural sweetener has an estimated value of 490 million US. dollars in 2017 in the global market predicted to reach 771.5 million US Dollars by 2022. Stevia sweeteners are considered sweeter compared to sugar and are suitable for baking in recipes.
3 Layer Pavlova Cake Recipe Sugar-Free
Ingredients 3-inch Meraguanes 9 inch in diameter
12 egg whites
1 cup Stevia sugar substitute
2 vanilla bean paste Scrape out the vanilla pulp fro 2 vanilla beans
3 teaspoon cream of tartar
Directions
Preheat an oven to 300 degrees F
Add the egg whites, vanilla bean paste and cream of tartar to a large bowl
Whip the egg whites on high until stiff peaks are formed
Slowly add the Stevia sugar substitute one tablespoon at a time until the egg whites form stiff peaks.
Place a piece of parchment paper on a large baking pan
Place a 9 inch dinner plate on top of the parchment paper as a guide
Trace the 9-inch plate using a pencil. You will need to draw 3 circles 9 in in diameter on the parchment paper
Turn the parchment paper over to avoid pencil marks
Using a spatula divide the egg whites equally to make 3 layers
Using the 9 inch circles as a guide spread out the meringue in one even layer starting in the center working your way out toward the edge of the circle
Repeat this step until you have filled 3 circles 9 inches in diameter.
Bake the meringue in a 300 degree preheated oven for one hour
Allow the meringue to cool at room temperature for 1 hour before assembly
Raspberry Filling Ingredients
12.75 ounces jar of sugar free Raspberry Jam preserves.
2 cups vanilla Greek yogurt sugar free
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Combine sugar free raspberry jam preserves, greek yogurt and vanilla extract in a medium bowl
Mix with a whisk until the filling is combined.
Ensemble the Pavlova 3 layer cake Directions
Place one 9 inch meringue on a serving plate or cake stand pedestal
Spread ½ cup of the raspberry filling evenly on the first layer
Place a meringue on top of the first layer
Spread ½ cup of the raspberry filling evenly on the second layer
Place the third layer on top of the second layer
Spread the remainder of the raspberry filling evenly on the third layer.
Top the Raspberry Pavlova with 1 cup sugar-free whipped topping
Sprinkle fresh or frozen raspberries on top of the cake to garnish. Enjoy sugar-free dessert for the holidays or special occasions using wholesome ingredients packed with flavor. Manage weight successfully baking with sugar free artificial sweeteners.
